Uniondale, New York: There is a huge craze for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in America. For the upcoming address of the Prime Minister in New York on September 22, tickets have been sold almost twice the capacity of the community gathering. The Indo American Community of USA (IACU) announced that more than 24,000 Indian Americans have signed up to attend the community gathering “Modi and US” with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event will be held at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which has a capacity of just 15,000.
Registrations for the event have come in from 590 community organisations, all of which have signed on as Welcome Partners from across the United States. Indian Americans from at least 42 states in the US are expected to attend the event. Modi & US promises to be a significant gathering celebrating the interconnected diversity of the Indian American community. Attendees at the event will include a wide range of religious communities, including members of the Jewish, Parsi, Jain, Christian, Sikh, Muslim and Hindu communities, in addition to people from other religions. They also represent a significant cross section of India’s diverse languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Gujarati and others.
PM Modi will give address
This event is happening just before the presidential election in the US in November. Apart from the speech of Prime Minister Modi, cultural programs will also be performed by prominent Indian Americans related to business, science, entertainment and art. But after more than 24 thousand registrations, general registration is now open for others. In this, 500 seats will be allotted through lottery system.
“We are committed to ensuring that as many people as possible can attend this historic event,” said a key event organiser. “We are going to do our best to expand the seating arrangements and coordinate with our welcome partners to prioritise final seat allocations for those who are most keen to attend.”
