islamabad: Corruption cases were pending against two sons of Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan. The court has given great relief in this matter. In fact, an anti-corruption court in Pakistan on Tuesday acquitted two sons of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in three cases of alleged corruption. With this, the legal problems faced by the former Prime Minister’s family have almost ended. Hassan and Hussain Nawaz were accused in the Avenfield, Flagship and Al-Azizia corruption cases related to the Panama Papers leak in 2018.
Hearing could not be held due to being abroad
Let us inform that both the brothers were declared criminals for failing to join the investigation of Avenfield Apartment, Al-Azizia and Flagship Investment cases filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in 2018. However, the case could not be heard as he was abroad. His father Nawaz Sharif, the main accused in the case, was convicted in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia corruption cases, but acquitted in the flagship case.
Nawaz Sharif was also out of the country
Three-time prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan from London in October last year after almost four years of self-exile. He challenged his conviction in two cases and was acquitted by the Islamabad High Court. This gave his sons the courage to return from London to face the charges. Both returned home on March 12 after being detained till March 14 after the court declared them fugitives. He was finally granted bail when he appeared before the court. The accountability court heard the acquittal petition on Tuesday. Judge Nasir Javed Rana acquitted both of them in all three cases after hearing the case.
