Russia’s attacks strike Kyiv once again, the destruction of Iran’s Shahed drone is not stopping in Ukraine

Kyiv : After last week’s attacks on several cities in Ukraine by Russia, Central Kyiv was once again rocked by several explosions on Monday. Kyiv city mayor Vitaly Klichko said the capital’s central Shevchenko district had been affected by the attack and urged residents to rush to refugee centers to save lives. However, other information regarding the attack was not immediately available.

The blasts were carried out in the same central district where a week earlier a Russian missile had targeted a children’s playground and a square near the main buildings of the Kyiv National University. Images and posts uploaded on social media clearly showed plumes of black smoke as the fire broke out in the region of central Kyiv. The head of Ukraine’s presidential office, Andrey Yermak, wrote in a post on the social media platform ‘Telegram’, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with an Iranian Shahed drone.

Russia is repeatedly using Iranian drones
Russia has been repeatedly using so-called suicide drones to target infrastructure, including power stations, in recent weeks. President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his address on Sunday night that heavy fighting was going on around the cities of Bakhmut and Soledar in the Donetsk region. This is the second Russian attack on Kyiv in recent days in which drones have been used. Earlier, Russia was furious after the Crimean bridge blast and started firing missiles at dozens of Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to carry out more such attacks if Ukraine’s “terrorism” does not stop. According to reports, it was one of Russia’s worst attacks in which Putin’s army fired more than 83 missiles. Seeing the escalating tension, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv had issued an advisory for its citizens and advised to avoid unnecessary travel to Ukraine or to Ukraine. This week China has also asked its citizens to leave Ukraine immediately due to growing security concerns.
