Scientists have discovered two ‘super earths’, here a year is less than 3 days but life may be possible, know how

Washington : Scientists have discovered two ‘Super Earth’-like planets that are located at a distance of 100 light years from our Earth. Both these planets are orbiting a small and cold star called TOI-4306 or SPECULOOS-2. The discovery was made by an international team of scientists led by astrophysicist Letitia Delárez. The discovery has been published in the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics. The first planet LP 890-9b or TOI-4306b was initially observed by NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). It is a space mission sent into space to search for exoplanets orbiting nearby stars.

NASA’s TESS is specifically designed to search for exoplanets. The planets outside our solar system are called exoplanets. The discovered planet is 30% larger than Earth. It completes one round of its host star in just 2.7 days. Researchers from the University of Lige used their ground-based SPECULOOS telescopes to confirm the planet.

Another planet 40 percent larger than Earth
With the help of the telescope, not only could the first planet be confirmed, but it also made it possible to find the second and hitherto unknown star. The second planet LP 890-9c or SPECULOOS-2c is about 40 percent larger than Earth. It completes one revolution around its host star in 8.5 days. One of the co-authors of the study, Francisco J. Pozuelos said it orbits very close to its star, about 10 times closer than the Sun and Mercury.

possible living conditions
According to the study, the star LP 890-9 is 6.5 times smaller than our Sun and its surface temperature is half that of our star. Therefore, the planet LP 890-9c located close to it may have habitable conditions. Scientists have discovered a planet where only water exists. If reports are to be believed, this planet, located at a distance of 100 light years from Earth, is covered by a thick layer of water. TOI-1452 b is an exoplanet orbiting one of two smaller stars in a binary system located in the Draco constellation.
