United Nations: The United Nations Security Council has appealed to the warring groups in Sudan to immediately stop the conflict during the holy month of Ramadan for the Muslim community. UNSC said that if the fighting stops, food items and other aid can be provided to more than 2 crore people. Let us tell you that the month of Ramadan is expected to start from Monday. Britain presented a proposal in the Security Council regarding stopping the conflict, in which 14 countries out of the 15-member council voted in support and only Russia was not present during this period. There is an atmosphere of anarchy in Sudan since April.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday urged both sides to maintain a ceasefire during Ramadan. Burhan welcomed Guterres’ appeal but Sudan’s Foreign Ministry released a list on Friday saying the conditions were necessary for a ceasefire.
