Police have detained a 26-year-old suspect in a knife attack in the western German city of Solingen on Friday. The suspect has been detained nearly 24 hours after the attack. Three people were killed in the stabbing incident in the city of Solingen. Earlier, the Islamic State group had claimed responsibility for the knife attack on Friday. Eight people were also injured and three died in the attack.
A minor is also in custody
Also on Saturday, police said they had made a second arrest as part of a police operation at a home for refugees in Solingen. Police said they could not provide further details about the man or his connection to the incident. Police also detained a minor who they say may be connected to the attack, but the perpetrator is still at large.

The terrorist group, in a statement on its Telegram account, described the perpetrator of the attack as a soldier of the Islamic State and said that he carried out the attack to take revenge against a specific community in Palestine and other places.
