Peshawar: Terrorists attacked a security post on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday in Pakistan’s troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. Six security personnel were killed and 11 others were injured in this attack by terrorists targeting the security post. Officials have given information about this terrorist attack. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for this attack.
Encounter between terrorists and security forces
According to officials, a group of terrorists attacked a check post located in Mishta village in Ladha tehsil of South Waziristan district in which six security personnel were killed while 11 others were injured. Official sources said that an operation has been launched to capture or kill the terrorists. Besides, in another incident, an encounter took place between terrorists and security forces in Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan district on Friday in which seven terrorists were killed while two security personnel were injured.
There have been attacks before
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that terrorists have targeted a security post. Earlier last month (August 2024), terrorists had attacked a security post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At least seven Pakistani security personnel were killed and 11 others were injured in this attack. The attack took place in Tirah Valley located on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Pakistan blamed the neighboring country
Meanwhile, let us also tell you here that Pakistan has been saying for a long time that the hideouts of terrorists associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan are present inside Afghanistan and its fighters go there after attacking Pakistani soil. However, the Taliban government has always denied this claim. It has also been said by the Taliban government that Pakistan has never provided evidence of the presence of TTP in Afghanistan. Islamabad should not blame Afghanistan for its weaknesses. (Language)
