Terrorist attacks have increased continuously in Pakistan, know the figures – Hindustan News Hub

Islamabad: There is a continuous increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan. A total of 59 terrorist attacks took place in August 2024 in which 84 people lost their lives, whereas in the previous month i.e. July, there were 38 such attacks. This information was given in a news on Tuesday. According to data from Islamabad-based think-tank ‘Pak Institute for Peace Studies’ (PIPS), with 59 attacks in August, the total number of attacks in 2024 has gone up to 325.

Most attacks took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

According to the PIPS data cited in a report in the Dawn newspaper, the highest number of 29 terror attacks took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, followed by 28 in Balochistan and two in Punjab in which 84 people lost their lives and 166 others were injured. The PIPS data shows that since 2006, there have been 17,846 terror attacks in which 24,373 people lost their lives while 48,085 others were injured.

Meanwhile, the security forces and police counter-terrorism departments (CTD) carried out 12 anti-terrorism operations in the country in August, while 11 operations were carried out last month i.e. July. In these operations, 88 terrorists were killed and 15 army personnel and three policemen died. Out of these 12 operations, eight were carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and four others in Balochistan.
