Singapore, A 37-year-old American man has been charged in a Singapore court with assaulting a crew member while traveling on a Singapore Airlines plane and spreading false news that there was a bomb on the plane. According to the report, the Singapore Police was informed on Wednesday that there was an alleged bomb on the plane SQ33 going from San Francisco to Singapore. After getting information about the bomb, there was a stir among the officials. However, in the subsequent investigation, the information of the bomb was found to be false.
Rumors spread about drugs
Police have arrested a US citizen on charges of spreading false rumors of a bomb and consuming banned drugs. The aircraft landed at Changi Airport at around 5:50 am in the security cordon of Republic of Singapore Air Force F-16C/D fighter jets. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said in a statement on Thursday that preliminary investigations have revealed that during the journey, the man allegedly made noises that there was a bomb on the plane and also snatched the luggage of another passenger.
Police said the man allegedly assaulted a crew member when he tried to stop him. ‘Channel News Asia’ quoted police as saying that an investigation conducted by a crew member did not find anything suspicious in the luggage of the American man. Police said that the urine of the person was examined by the Central Narcotics Bureau, in which it has come to light that he was taking banned drugs.
