Hindu organizations on Thursday said the grand consecration of the Ram temple is a “historic moment” that will mark the culmination of nearly five centuries of dedicated efforts of countless devotees. The organizations issued a joint statement here saying they hope Hindu families living in Britain will celebrate the ‘homecoming’ of Lord Ram to Ayodhya on January 22 as part of the Diwali festival. “We are delighted to welcome representatives of religious communities in the UK to the opening ceremony of the Shri Ram Mandir (Ram Temple) in Ayodhya, India on 22 January 2024,” the statement said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 22 January. Its live telecast will also be seen in many countries of the world including India. India has also invited representatives of 55 countries to visit Ayodhya for this day. All preparations for the celebration have been completed in Ayodhya. The ghats and streets are decorated like a bride. In a statement ahead of the inauguration, Britain’s Hindu organizations said Lord Ram is recognized as ‘the embodiment of religious traditions throughout the world’ and is an enduring symbol of ‘Hindu/Indian civilisation’.
