Rapid attacks on Gaza are being carried out by the Israeli army. Meanwhile, once again there seems to be a possibility of a ceasefire. Because American officials and representatives of Qatar have reached Europe for talks regarding the agreement for the release of hostages in Gaza.

Only supporters of Israel appealed for talks

According to the information received, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Chief William J. Burns reached Europe on Monday for talks with officials of Israel and Qatar. The talks are expected to discuss a new ceasefire and agreement on the release of hostages in Gaza. Earlier, America had talked to Israeli military officials to reduce war operations against Hamas. France, Britain and Germany, considered close to Israel, joined global calls for a ceasefire over the weekend.

Hamas ready for fresh talks for the release of hostages

Protests are taking place over fresh talks with Hamas for the release of all hostages after three Israeli hostages were killed in accidental gunfire by the Israeli army. US officials have repeatedly expressed concern over the large number of civilian deaths in Gaza. But after talking to Israeli officials on Monday, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said, “This is Israel’s operation.”

America had vetoed the UN ceasefire resolution.

The US vetoed a ceasefire resolution in the UN Security Council and supplied arms to its close ally Israel, pressuring it to take greater steps to avoid harming civilians. The UN Security Council delayed a vote on Tuesday on an Arab-sponsored resolution calling for unhindered access to humanitarian aid and a halt to the war. Diplomats said talks were underway to persuade the US to abstain or vote “in favor” on the resolution.
