Russia-Ukraine War: The war between Russia and Ukraine continues. Amidst the war, Russia said on Friday that its army will regain control of its Kursk region ‘in time’. At present, Russia has not said when it will achieve its goal. Ukraine’s army is still there even after more than a month of attacking the Kursk region. It is believed that Ukraine has strengthened its front in the Kursk region.

On August 6 this year, Ukraine launched the biggest foreign attack on Russia since World War II. During this time, the Ukrainian army rapidly entered the Kursk region. Since then, Russia has been struggling to drive out the Ukrainian army. On Thursday, a senior Russian commander said that Russian troops had recaptured two villages in the Kursk region.
‘The army is working’
“Our military is doing its job. They will complete it. Control will be restored,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. He said the military would not explicitly discuss publicly how it planned to achieve this. “The situation in the areas that are under the control of Ukrainian fighters is definitely bad. It will be corrected in time,” he said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently said the military operation had succeeded in driving out about 40,000 Russian troops, easing some of the Russian pressure on Ukraine’s Donbass region. In contrast, Russian President Vladimir Putin says his troops are advancing faster than before in Donbass, where they have taken control of several settlements while moving toward the Ukrainian logistics hub Pokrovsk.
