Meanwhile, fierce fighting is going on over the capital Kyiv. Ukraine’s military said on Monday that the situation in Kyiv was still under its control. Ukrainian Army Ground Forces posted on Facebook: ‘Ukrainian forces still have control of Kiev, as repeated attempts by Russian troops on the outskirts of Kyiv at night have been defeated.’ Ukraine’s local “Russian forces failed to control any major regional cities and Ukrainian forces drove Russians on all fronts last night,” the agency said. The report said that although Russian troops launched air strikes on several cities, including Kharkiv, Kyiv and Chernihiv, the Ukrainian air defense system is facing attacks.
