Washington: Before the presidential election in November in the US, the first presidential debate took place between Kamala Harris, the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, and Donald Trump, the Republican Party’s candidate. On Tuesday, the two leaders came face to face on a stage for the first time. During this, Trump and Harris attacked each other fiercely. Donald Trump slammed Harris and the Biden government on issues ranging from the Russia-Ukraine war to foreign policy and economy. Along with this, he said that if I win the election on November 5, I will end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Trump took on the Biden government along with Kamala Harris on issues such as US foreign policy, economy, border security and abortion. The debate lasted for 90 minutes in Pennsylvania. During the debate, Republican presidential candidate Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Harris presented their different visions for the next four years, which they would like to implement if they become president. The Vice President (59) summed up his entire speech and finally remarked, “I think you heard two very different visions for the country tonight. One that focuses on the future and the other that focuses on the past.
Trump asked Harris this question
78-year-old Trump asked Harris – why did she not do these things in the three and a half years of her administration led by President Joe Biden. In his closing remarks of the debate, Trump said, “She started with the fact that she will do this, she will do that. She is going to do all these great things. But why did she not do it till now? She had three and a half years to do all this. She had three and a half years to solve the border dispute. She had three and a half years to create jobs and all the things we talked about. Why did she not do it then?” This was the second ‘Presidential Debate’ but this was the first debate between Trump and Harris. The first ‘Presidential Debate’ was held on 27 June between President Joe Biden and Trump. After his disappointing performance in this debate, Biden withdrew his name from the presidential race and paved the way for Harris to become the party candidate in the November elections.
Harris answered Trump’s question
Kamala Harris said, “I strongly believe that the people of America want a president who understands the importance of coming together and that we have more similarities than the things that separate us. I promise you that I will be the president of all American citizens.” Trump said, “Everyone knows what I am going to do. I will cut taxes a lot and create a great economy as I did before. We had the best economy. It was affected due to the pandemic. We did a great job during the pandemic.” But soon the debate took a sharp turn when Trump and Harris were seen accusing each other of lying.
Trump said Harris’s ideology is Marxist
Trump alleged that Harris is a Marxist, while Harris called the former president arrogant and a person who wants to push the country backwards. Trump alleged, “Whatever she believed three-four years ago is now secondary. She now seems to be adopting my point of view. But if she is elected president, she will change it and it will lead to the end of our country. She is a woman with a Marxist ideology. Her father was a Marxist professor in economics and he has taught her (Harris) better in this. ” Trump claimed that Harris used to look after border matters in the Biden administration. You see what she has done (in this regard). I believe that 2.1 crore people (migrants) come. Most of them are criminals and this is not good for the economy of America.
Trump attacks Harris on the issue of Afghanistan
The former president raised the issue of Afghanistan several times in his address and said that the way the US army was withdrawn from there was the “most shameful moment in the history of America”. On this, Harris, referring to her talks with the Taliban, said that it should be remembered under what circumstances (the withdrawal of troops) took place. Trump claimed that Harris “hates Israel”, to which the Vice President retorted that Trump likes “dictators”. Addressing Trump, Harris said that as Vice President, she has spoken to the leaders of many countries and she says that “you are a very arrogant person.” Trump repeatedly described Harris and Biden as weak.
