washington: America’s presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswami’s statement regarding Hindu religion is in discussion. On Saturday, he attended an event organized by The Daily Signal, where he was asked several questions. In response to a question, Vivek Ramaswamy said that Hindu religion has inspired me to contest the presidential election and today I am in the election because of this. Further, regarding Hindu religion, he said that this religion gave me the freedom to understand moral responsibilities.
God sent us all
Ramaswami said that I am a Hindu, I believe in one true God. I believe that God has sent all of us here for a special purpose. It is our moral duty to realize this objective. We are all equal because God resides in all of us, this is the core of our religion. I was born and brought up in a very traditional family. My parents taught me that family is our foundation. Parents should be respected, marriage is a sacred relationship, restraint is necessary before marriage. Marriage takes place between a man and a woman. There is no divorce. A man and a woman marry before God. He takes an oath before God for the well-being of his family.
I will stand up for God’s values
Vivek Ramaswamy further said that I went to a Christian school in 10th class, where I learned the 10 commandments. God is true, God is one. Don’t take his name in vain. Respect your parents. Don’t lie. Don’t steal. Do not commit adultery. I was very young when I learned all this. I think these teachings are not just for Hindus. Neither is it the teachings of Christians, but I think it is actually God’s teaching. Can I be a President who will promote Christianity? Not at all and there are many reasons for this. I feel that my duty is to stand up for these values and these principles and I will do so.
