The Houthi rebels will no longer be safe in the Red Sea. The Indian Navy has started a campaign against the frequent attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea. In the last few days, Houthi rebels have carried out drone attacks on commercial ships of several countries in the Red Sea. But India is committed to providing maritime security to all of them. Now the Indian Navy’s operation in the Red Sea has created panic among the Houthi rebels. India on Friday said it is carefully assessing all aspects of the emerging situation in the region, in the backdrop of Houthi rebels intensifying attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi also said that India is not part of any multilateral initiative or operation in and around the Red Sea. “As we have said earlier, we value free movement of commercial vessels, which is one of the fundamental principles underpinning global commerce,” Bagchi said in response to a question at his weekly media briefing. “We are carefully evaluating all aspects of the situation unfolding in that area. Our defense forces are taking necessary measures in this regard,” he said. Without giving details, Bagchi said the defense forces were taking necessary measures.

Along with the Red Sea, the Indian Navy is also carrying out operations in the Arabian Sea.

The Indian Navy on Tuesday said it has launched a focused maritime security operation in the Arabian Sea in view of recent incidents in the region, including the attack on merchant vessel MV Chem Pluto. A Liberian-flagged vessel was the target of a drone attack off India’s western offshore last Saturday, raising security concerns. Apart from MV Chem Pluto, another commercial oil tanker ‘MV Sai Baba’ en route to India came under a suspected drone attack in the southern Red Sea on the same day.

Rumor of removal of Rezang La monument on China border dismissed as wrong

Asked about media reports that the Rezang La monument in eastern Ladakh was demolished as part of the troop withdrawal process with China, Bagchi said any allegation of any alteration in it ” It is wrong. “Many of you are aware that there is a long-standing memorial (dedicated) to the heroes of Rezang La on the border. The allegation that there is any change in that memorial is false,” the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said. Army sources also said that no changes have been made to the memorial. The Rezang La Memorial is dedicated to the army personnel, including Major Shaitan Singh, who fought with utmost bravery against the Chinese troops in large numbers during the 1962 war. (Language)
