Woman reporter dies after being crushed by container in Pakistan, Imran Khan stops long march

Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is marching to Islamabad demanding elections. During this, a major accident has been seen in Imran’s March, where a Pakistani female reporter died. According to media reports, women journalists came under a container involved in Imran Khan’s long march. The reporter was crushed to death. The woman journalist has been identified as Channel 5 reporter Sadaf Naeem. The march was stopped after this incident.

After this tragic incident, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Imran Khan announced the suspension of march activities for the day. Khan said, ‘We are ending today’s march due to an accident. We have decided to stay here. Imran expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and said that he would pray for the departed soul. Imran’s Long March will begin on the fourth day from Kamoke on Monday.

There was a plan for this march that it would reach Gujranwala at the end of the third day. Geo News reported that Sadaf Khan was crushed by the same container on which Imran Khan was aboard. However this has not been confirmed. According to Duniya TV, the journalist was trying to interview Imran Khan. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, reacting to the death of the journalist, said that he was deeply saddened by the incident.

Shahbaz Sharif tweeted and wrote, ‘Deeply saddened by the death of journalist Sadaf Naeem after falling from a long march container. Our heartfelt condolences to the family. Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb expressed grief and questioned how a container truck crushed the journalist.
