Kangana Ranaut: Salman had offered me a role in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Shahrukh had offered me a role in ‘Zero’.
Rajat Sharma: Was ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ a good film?
Kangana Ranaut: In 2006, when I was struggling for work, no one offered me any film. I didn’t even get work to stand behind. When my film ‘Queen’ became a hit in 2014, then I started getting offers. But I felt that I have got a different kind of opportunity like ‘Vyjayanthimala’, ‘Sridevi’ used to do films of their own choice. Will Aamir Khan let me give a good performance in his film? Salman is a larger-than-life star. He is a veteran actor of the film industry. Salman is my dear friend and Aamir Khan is also very nice.
Rajat Sharma: You said no to Akshay Kumar also?
Kangana Ranaut: Akshay Kumar was offering me a role in ‘Singh is Bliing’. As a female artist, I have created my own identity in the industry. No one wanted to make a film on the story of an old woman who has been our Prime Minister thrice (Indira Gandhi).
Rajat Sharma: You rejected offers from all the Khans, all the Kumars and all the Kapoors?
Kangana Ranaut: Earlier I used to seek work; I was wandering from door to door.
Rajat Sharma: But, you see, everyone salutes the rising sun?
Kangana Ranaut: If that sun is shining so brightly then why should I take a side role?
