Sensational revelation by the family of the rape-murder victim.

Protests are continuing in the case of rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the victim’s family has made a big claim. The female doctor’s family has alleged that the Kolkata Police tried to suppress the case by cremating the body in a hurry. At the same time, they have also alleged that the Kolkata Police also tried to bribe them with money.

Police tried to suppress the matter- family

According to PTI, the family of the Kolkata rape-murder victim has claimed that the Kolkata Police tried to suppress the case from the very beginning. The family was not allowed to see the body. They had to wait at the police station while the body was taken for post-mortem. Later, when the body was handed over to the family, a senior police officer offered them money. The family immediately rejected it.

Family members became part of the protest

The victim’s parents joined the protest at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital along with junior doctors on Wednesday night and demanded justice for their daughter. Earlier on Tuesday, a delegation of junior doctors in Kolkata presented a handmade prosthetic spine to the city’s police commissioner Vineet Goyal. The doctors had demanded his resignation over alleged lapses in the entire case. In this way, they have sent a message to the police to develop a spine.

People switched off the lights of their houses

Citizens in Kolkata on Wednesday evening staged a powerful demonstration of solidarity. Residents switched off the lights of their homes for an hour from 9 pm to 10 pm and took out candle marches on the streets to protest the rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Hospital. At exactly 9 pm, major landmarks like the Victoria Memorial and Raj Bhavan, homes across the city, suburbs and districts plunged into darkness as part of the protest. (Input: PTI)
