India’s medal tally at the Paris Paralympics 2024 is steadily increasing, with the 25th medal coming in the Para-Judo event on the 8th day. Indian para athlete Kapil Parmar won the bronze medal in the men’s para-Judo 60kg category event by defeating Brazilian para athlete Elilton Oliveira 10-0. 24-year-old Kapil Parmar from Madhya Pradesh won the match at the Champ-de-Mars Arena.

More medals are expected to increase today

After Kapil Parmar won the bronze medal, India has now reached the 14th position in the medal tally, in which apart from 5 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze have been won. On the 8th day, the number of medals is sure to increase. India has also performed much better this time than the last Paralympic Games held in Tokyo in which they won a total of 19 medals.

Kapil had to face defeat in the semi-finals

In Paralympics 2024, Kapil Parmar had shown a great game till the semi-finals in which he defeated Venezuela’s Marco Dennis Blanco 10-0 in the quarter-final match. At the same time, in the semi-finals, he faced S Banitaba Khorram Abadi of Ran and had to face defeat. After this, Parmar did not give up the hope of winning the medal and succeeded in winning the bronze medal. India has so far succeeded in winning medals in the events of Para Archery, Para Athlete, Shooting Para, Para Badminton and Para Judo.
