Sources have claimed that Malaika’s mother has said in her statement to the police that Anil used to sit in the balcony and read the newspaper every morning. Joyce also told the police that on Wednesday morning when she saw her ex-husband’s slippers in the living room, she went to look for him in the balcony. When he was not found there, she bent down and looked down. The watchman of the building was shouting for help. Joyce also told the police that Anil Mehta was not suffering from any serious illness. He only had a little pain in his knee. He had taken VRS from the Merchant Navy.
