She made a surprising revelation about her late husband, actor Rishi Kapoor. The actress recalled her dating days. He also told what kind of boyfriend Rishi Kapoor was. While talking to Karan, Neetu said in clear words that Rishi was a ‘strict boyfriend’ and did not allow her to party heavily. She told that when she used to shoot with Yash Chopra, there used to be parties late at night. However, he never partied hard because Rishi used to stop him from going to parties. Due to his obstruction, this fun element was always missing from Neetu’s life.

Neetu Kapoor told Rishi to be strict

Neetu Kapoor said, ‘We had a great time, especially with Yash Chopra. We used to party at night, play Antakshari, act like crazy. It was like a picnic. It was really fun, but I had Rishi Kapoor as my boyfriend. So, I never partied. Because he always used to say, don’t do this, don’t do that, come home. So, I never saw that crazy side of partying in those days. Neetu Kapoor further said, ‘I was committed and I had a very strict mother and a very strict boyfriend. So, I was stuck between them.

Left acting after marriage

Neetu Kapoor dated Rishi for some time before getting engaged on April 13, 1979. They got married on January 22, 1980. Neetu left acting after her marriage. The couple lovingly raised two children, daughter Riddhima and son Ranbir Kapoor. Later, children also became the reason for Neetu’s distance from acting.

Rishi lost his life due to this disease

Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with a disease called leukemia and he struggled with it for two years. He was undergoing treatment in New York, where Neetu and Ranbir were with him. Alia Bhatt, who is now married to Ranbir, also used to visit him often. The trio returned to India in 2019, but Rishi was rushed to a Mumbai hospital in April 2020, where he died. Neetu also opened up about her last years in the show and said that they were one of the most memorable years of her life.
