Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ’12th Fail’ is being praised a lot. Whoever is watching the film is not tired of praising it. Everyone says that this film is quite inspiring and gives a new hope to the people. Another new name has been added to the praise of this film starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar. This is not from any common man but from actor-director Anurag Kashyap who has a keen understanding of films. Anurag Kashyap has praised this film, which has a rating of 9.2 out of 10 on IMDb.
Anurag Kashyap won praises
In his recent Instagram post, Anurag Kashyap wrote, ‘Probably the best mainstream film I have seen in 2023. Vidu Vinod Chopra has created a masterpiece based on a simple story of a stubborn man at the age of 71. He wants to be more than what life gives him. The film shows that he goes and gets what he wants and how he does it also gets to be seen. What amazes me about the film is how they have broken all the conventions of the mainstream and shot the scenes in simple long shots.. the crowd scenes of Mukherjee Nagar which feel as if the camera is in the air Have come to watch the story without disturbing anyone. It felt as if we were flying on the wall and watching the film. A background score out of the league, something that mainstream cinema always shies away from.

Anurag Kashyap says, ‘The filmmaker has faith in himself and his actors and his storytelling that he does not use BGM to manipulate the audience or emotions. A filmmaker is at the peak of his storytelling and that too at this age. Now I too have hope. A new benchmark has been set by Vidu Vinod Chopra for filmmakers like me who are feeling a little lost. Anurag Kashyap further said in this post, ‘I have met Manoj and I have read the book, but I could never see in it what Vidu Vinod Chopra saw. It is on Hotstar and is a must watch. I was unfortunate to not get time to watch it in theaters, so I watched it at home only, but do watch this movie once. Love you Vidu Vinod Chopra for inspiring me. It is possible that you may never grow up and will always remain the same annoying child even at the age of 71. Just huge hugs and love to you. And I’m ready to start again.’
