Virender Sehwag had recently shared pictures of Lakshadweep on his X account, in which he had praised this island group a lot. Sharing the same post of Virender Sehwag, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, ‘Viru Paaji… this is very important and is in line with the true spirit of our earth. Our own heritage is the best. I have been to Lakshadweep and Andaman and there are amazingly beautiful places there. There is even an underwater experience with astonishing water. We are India, we are self-reliant, do not harm our self-reliance. Jai Hind.’

Along with this, he also made hateful and racial comments on Indians. However, the government of Maldives has controlled the matter and has suspended the ministers commenting on this matter.
