Ivory can be up to 1 lakh years old
During excavations in a North Dakota city, the mammoth tooth was found buried in the river bed inside a mine. When a laborer used a shovel, a huge buried ivory tusk was found, which was about 2 meters long. It is being told that it can be 10 thousand to 1 lakh years old. North Dakota mines in the US typically produce millions of tons of lignite coal annually. Among the four types of coal, lignite is the third category of coal. The best is anthracite, then bituminous, followed by lignite coal in quality. It is difficult to believe the treasure found in this lignite coal mine.
Experts were surprised to know how the mammoth teeth, which are millions of years old, remained so well preserved despite the use of heavy machinery in the coal mine. Further excavations revealed more than 20 bones, indicating that mammoths were probably found in greater numbers in North Dakota.
