Kangana also shared a new poster of Emergency on Instagram on Tuesday. Kangana herself has directed and written the film. Kangana is shown in the poster as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

According to news agency PTI, Kangana said in a statement, ‘Emergency is my most ambitious project and my second directorial venture after Manikarnika. We have the best of Indian and international talent coming together for this big budget, lavish period drama. The film was initially scheduled to release in theaters on November 24, 2023, but was postponed due to schedule changes.
