IMDb called this film the best film, Vikrant dominated the world with 9.2 rating

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ’12th Fail’ is indeed a very inspiring story which has received a lot of love from the audience. This film starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar is still being seen in theaters and is continuously making new records. After creating a different place in the hearts of the audience in theaters and OTT, this film has now got a rating of 9.2 out of 10 on IMDb. With this high rating, it is on the top in the list of best films of the year. It has got the first position not only in India but all over the world.

In a survey by IMDb, those films of the year 2023 were kept in the top list which have received at least 20,000 user votes. ’12th Fail’ has become the highest rated film with the highest number of votes. ’12th Fail’ tops the list of high rated films of the year 2023. It is followed by ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ with a rating of 8.6. Other big films of the year include ‘Oppenheimer’ which has got 8.4 rating. In this list, ‘Godzilla Minus One’ is at fourth place with a rating of 8.4, and Kannada film ‘Kaiva’ has joined the top 5 with a rating of 8.2. Apart from this, ’12th Fail’ has also made its place in the top 10 highest rated drama list in Letterboxd 2023 Year Review.

Great earnings in theaters too

While ’12th Fail’ is enjoying its dream run in theatres, it has also received a great response on its OTT release. With a box office collection of around Rs 70 crore, the film has proved its potential, which is a remarkable achievement for a film of this scale. Along with this, there was a lot of discussion about the digital release of the film. Due to this, it reached the top in the IMDb ratings of the year 2023.

Based on a true story, ’12th Fail’ is based on the struggle of lakhs of students who appear for the UPSC entrance exam. But at the same time, it goes beyond that one test and encourages people not to give up and restart in case of failure. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film can now be seen in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu theatres. Also this film is also available on Netflix.
