Actor Chiyaan Vikram starrer Pan India film ‘Thangalan’ is in the news again. This is one of the much awaited films coming this year. The release of the film has been announced in April 2024. The film has been successful in attracting the attention of the audience since its first glimpse. True incident of 1880’s
This film is set in the time of 1880. This was the time when Kolar Gold Fields and Gold Mining was at the peak of progress and gold was being produced in huge quantities from KGF. KGF and its development not only raised hopes of progress in India but also attracted the evil eye of the British.
The British stole 900 tons of gold
In such a situation, the British had come to plunder India and rule it and they advanced their steps towards the Kolar Gold Fields. They harassed the residents and workers of KGF and did injustice to them. Not only this, they also stole 900 tonnes of gold, whose value at that time was Rs 5 lakh crore.
The director did research for more than 2 years
‘Thangalan’ is directed by Pa Ranjith, the film depicts the bravery and war fought by the KGF men against the British and how they protect the Kolar Gold Fields, the pride of India. The director has done research on this film for more than two years before taking it on the floors. Because the story of ‘Thangalan’ reflects the real story of Kolar Gold Fields. Pa. Ranjit along with his team recreated the atmosphere of that period. He has worked hard on everything from body language to other aspects to give it a real touch.
Have brought research base film earlier also
However, this is not the first time that Pa Ranjith is directing a subject of different times. Earlier in 2021, he had proved his worth with ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’. The sports drama starring Arya also tells the story of 1970s India, and Pa Ranjith has received praise for its execution and storytelling.
Set in the early 19th century, the period drama film will tell the story of true events that revolve around the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields of Karnataka. ‘Thangalan’ is scheduled to release worldwide in April 2024 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
