Bollywood’s brilliant actor Pankaj Tripathi does not need any identity. After leaving an impression on people even with his small role, Pankaj has now started running films on his own. With his screen presence, Pankaj Tripathi makes every character his own in a very natural and simple manner. From his small role of ‘Kauya Biryani’ in the film ‘Run’ to the role of Sultan Qureshi in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, he won the hearts of the audience so much that he started getting big, durable and powerful roles in films. Pankaj Tripathi, who has made every role memorable, was now seen facing the questions of India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma in the dock of the popular show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. During this, he talked about his character in his old film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.

Gangsters started approaching

Rajat Sharma asked, ‘It is true that when you were doing ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, playing the role of Sultan, some gangsters had approached you.’ In response to this, Pankaj said, ‘How do you know? Well, you pretty much mean that thing. At that time, many gangsters from South, North, India and elsewhere started considering me as their idol. Yes, they believed that whatever the Sultan says, he does. There is nothing wrong with the entire film or character. He is a man of perfect character. So people started liking it a lot. Many writers used to come to tell stories and were afraid that they would not know how to take out the knife.

When Pankaj did whatever he wanted

Just before this, Rajat Sharma said, ‘When Pankaj ji looks at your acting career, you change roles from good to good. Do it as per your wish? Let me tell you examples one by one. You were doing a daily soap, playing the role of a villain in it and at that time you got the role of Gangs of Wasseypur. It was a crucial scene. Leaving that, you disappeared and went to work in Gangs of Wasseypur. Did you act arbitrarily?’

There is someone in the Hindi film industry who…

In response to this question, Pankaj Tripathi said, ‘Yes, there is someone who does whatever he wants in the Hindi film industry. No, what happens in daily soaps is that your commitment becomes too much. Time and everything is managed. What was there to do by doing nothing sir? There are five days of drama in the daily soap. On the sixth day, do 18 minutes of drama in 20 minutes every day and then freeze it. Making a high point… I said manage the date. Got a big film. Did not agree. I said, fire me, I am going to do the film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. So he said, you are a villain, the heroine is going to get married, if you are not there then who will stop? I said I will stay to stop the heroine’s marriage. I didn’t want to see my career… so I left. Then they stopped my brother’s marriage…so it happens on TV. They can do anything, show on TV that the police has detained them somewhere. The actor joins again in the next episode.
