Vidya said at the event, ‘I was very excited to play the character of Silk, but let me tell you that for the first time Milan Luthria came to me and then I felt that he had come to the wrong door.’ Because I couldn’t believe that anyone could actually approach me for this role. I love doing roles that people can’t even imagine, but I knew I could do. When the film came to me I became very happy. Without thinking, I said yes to the role of Silk.
Vidya Balan told the truth
Vidya Balan also told that there were some people who told me, ‘Do you really want to do this role? It will ruin your career. This could spell the end of your career because you know you have been Miss Goody Two Shoes. I said, what does ‘Miss Goody Two Shoes’ mean? I have done hardly 5-6 films. It is not that it has been 30 years since my films and then I am trying to do something different. It is the job of an actress to do something different, that is why I am an actress.
