Antioxidants are very important for our body. These protect our cells and tissues and prevent many serious diseases. Two main antioxidants are found in strawberries – flavonoids and anthocyanins. Flavonoids protect cells from damage and prevent free radicals present in the body. Anthocyanin also reduces free radical activity and it also helps in fighting cancer. Therefore, eating strawberries increases the antioxidants in the body and protects us from many diseases.
Spinach
Antioxidants are found in abundance in spinach which are very beneficial for our body. Spinach contains antioxidants called carotenoids, vitamin C and vitamin E. Antioxidants called carotenoids protect our cells from damage. Vitamin C and Vitamin E increase our immunity by reducing the activity of free radicals. Therefore, eating spinach increases antioxidants in the body and protects us from many diseases.
Broccoli
Broccoli contains a special type of antioxidant called glucoraphanin. It helps in fighting diseases like cancer. An antioxidant called glucoraphanin prevents free radicals which cause diseases like cancer. It also strengthens our immunity so that our body can fight diseases. Therefore, eating broccoli increases antioxidants in the body and protects us from many diseases, especially cancer. Along with this, you can include tomatoes, grapes, walnuts etc. in your diet.
