In most of the houses, only paratha and vegetables are prepared for breakfast and this has been a great breakfast for years. But many people enjoy hot tea with paratha and the problem starts from here. Actually, the combination of tea and paratha may taste good but is very harmful for health.

According to health experts, a heavy meal like paratha along with hot food items makes a bad combination. Nutritionists say that drinking tea with paratha can lead to acidity and severe bloating as caffeine-rich tea or coffee can disrupt or damage the acid-base balance in your stomach. Due to being heavy, eating parathas spoils the stomach health.

According to the study, the phenolic chemicals present in tea stimulate the formation of iron-complex in the stomach lining, which prevents the absorption of iron. Therefore, tea should not be consumed with food, especially those who have anemia due to iron deficiency.

Tea-Paratha is harmful
The tannins found in tea interact with proteins and act as antinutrients. According to a study, tannins reduce these proteins by about 38%, hence eating paratha with tea is harmful for health.

How should one drink tea?

If you are a tea lover then you can enjoy it but keeping these things in mind. Drink tea at least 45 minutes after eating any meal. An hour after breakfast or lunch, or while enjoying some snacks in the evening, is the best time to enjoy a cup of tea.
