In one of her Instagram posts, nutritionist Pooja Malhotra has explained about the nutrition of potatoes. Pooja says that potatoes contain more carbohydrates and calories than other vegetables. However, essential nutrients like fiber, potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, manganese and antioxidants are also present in it. Not only this, the starch present in potatoes is also of resistant type, which helps in keeping your intestines healthy.

If you have ever replaced home-made potato curry with processed food like noodles, then you must know some special things. The nutritionist said that most processed foods are unhealthy, even if some healthy food items are added to them. Something similar happens with instant noodles also. Instant noodles contain 950 grams of sodium, which is quite high. Apart from this, there are many chemicals, acidity regulators, thickeners, preservatives, anti-caking agents, artificial colors and humectants.

Now you can decide what you want to choose. You have to choose home-made potato curry or convert it into a processed food. Nutritionist Pooja Malhotra suggests that while mixing potatoes with other vegetables, always ensure that there should be protein content in the diet.
