According to data published in the Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, grape skin contains several antioxidants that promote heart health and good cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of blood clots and bad cholesterol levels.

A research published in MDPI’s journal ‘Molecules’ states that moderate consumption of red wine can reduce the risk of some cancers and gallstones. This is because they contain polyphenolic compounds, and drinking two glasses of wine per day can lead to a longer and healthier life.

However, Harvard News reported that the polyphenols in red wine may be higher than in white wine, but are still lower than other compounds in dark chocolate or blueberries. White wine on the other hand is made from white grapes or grapes whose skin is removed before the fermentation process. This causes white wines to lack the antioxidants that the grape skins provide to red wines.

White wine has slightly fewer calories, more carbohydrates and less alcohol than red wine. According to researchers at the University of Barcelona, ​​white wine also contains phenolics that provide protection against cardiovascular diseases and have anti-cancer effects. Even though it is not as high in phenolic compounds as red wine, its phenols have greater antioxidant capacity than red wine.
