The most common symptom of TB is cough. According to a study published in ‘The Lancet Infectious Disease’, about 80 percent of TB patients show symptoms of persistent cough. About 60 thousand people were included in 12 countries of Asia and Africa. No signs of cough are seen in about 60 percent of patients.

Sometimes TB patients do not cough

Long-lasting cough is considered the main symptom of TB. In most cases, TB testing is done. According to the Lancet study, a correct criteria is needed to diagnose TB. Many times a TB patient does not cough, due to which it goes unnoticed. Due to this there is a lot of delay in treatment. Which makes this disease fatal.

TB disease can spread from an infected patient

According to the study, if a person is suffering from TB and he coughs. So his bacteria can spread to the people nearby through his spit. This bacteria can also spread through air. Therefore, if someone is suffering from TB, he should wear a mask on his mouth.
