Digestive problems

Eating raw onion can cause digestive problems for some individuals. Fructan is a type of carbohydrate. Due to which there is difficulty in digesting it. This can cause gas, bloating and stomach problems. People with sensitive stomach or digestive problems should eat raw onion in limit to avoid these symptoms. 

Bad breath

Eating raw onion causes terrible bad breath. The strong sulfur chemical found in onion releases odor. Which can last for hours. Although brushing your teeth and using mouthwash can help, it can be challenging to completely eliminate powerful scents.

Allergy

Some people may feel allergic to raw onion. Reactions can range from mild itching and swelling to more severe reactions such as difficulty breathing. If you feel allergic after eating onion then you should immediately contact the doctor. 

Heartburn

For some people, eating raw onion may cause heartburn or acid reflux. Esophageal sphincter found in onion which can soothe heartburn. And the acid found in the stomach can go back into the esophagus. People who suffer from heartburn should eat less raw onion. Especially while sleeping at night. 

Triggers migraine

For some individuals, eating raw onion may trigger migraine. Onions contain tyramine which can trigger headaches. If you suffer from migraine, it is advised that you eat raw onion with caution. 

These people should not eat too much raw onion

People who take medicines for heart, BP or diabetes should not eat raw onion in large quantities. This may increase their physical problems. 

1-2 onions should also be added to vegetables. Eating more onion than this can prove harmful for the body.
