Due to lack of blood cells in the body, there can be internal blood leakage in the body which can cause failure of any organ like heart, kidney, liver etc. Due to lack of blood cells in the body, the human immunity becomes very weak and the body becomes unable to fight diseases.

Its treatment includes medicines like antithymocyte globulin injection, cyclosporine, which helps in stopping the attack of the immune system. However, according to some medical experts, complete treatment of this disease is possible only through bone marrow transplant. As soon as the disease is detected, doctors start preparations for bone marrow transplant.
Complications in treatment
- Graft vs. host issues that may arise during allogeneic transplant
- Immunosuppressive drugs can increase the risk of infection, which can even lead to death.
- The risk of organ failure increases due to weakening of immunity during chemo.
Prevention
There is no known way to prevent aplastic anemia yet.
