A different side of UP’s strongman leader and former BJP MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh was seen on Thursday. During a program organized in Gonda, when the allegations of sexual harassment against him were discussed, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh started crying. Both his eyes filled with tears. He kept wiping them several times with the white gamchha hanging on his shoulder to stop them from falling. When he himself came to speak, he also gave clarification on the allegations against him. He said that I had said at that time itself that the Congress has hatched a conspiracy against me. It was a conspiracy of Congress leaders Deepender Hooda and Bhupendra Hooda.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had reached the smartphone and tablet distribution program organized in a private school. MLC Awadhesh Singh was addressing the people from the stage. The MLC mentioned the allegations made by the female wrestlers on Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. He said that the allegations made on the former MP are fake. On hearing this, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, sitting on the stage, became emotional and tears started flowing from his eyes. Both his eyes were filled with tears. He was also seen trying several times to wipe the tears with a towel.
After this, when Brij Bhushan himself came to speak, he targeted the Congress. Referring to the meeting of female wrestler Vinesh Phogat with Congress leaders and the discussion of contesting elections, he said that I had already said that the Congress people had conspired against me. Taking the names of Haryana Congress leaders Deepender Singh Hooda and Bhupendra Hooda, Brij Bhushan said that these people had conspired against me.
The reason behind Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh getting emotional is believed to be his sidelining from BJP. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had earlier told the media that he regrets that the party will not give him another chance. He had said that his chapter in BJP is now over. Due to the allegations of sexual exploitation of female wrestlers, BJP did not give Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh a ticket for Lok Sabha this time. However, BJP fielded his son in his place and he won and became an MP.
Women wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia had accused Brij Bhushan Singh of sexual abuse. Due to these serious allegations, a case was registered against him in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.
