CM Yogi’s action against 28 consolidation officers in UP, big action against corruption – Hindustan News Hub

Lucknow: The Yogi government’s crackdown against misuse of power, negligence in work and corruption continues. After the strict stand of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, one after another careless officers in the Consolidation Department are being punished. In this sequence, on the instructions of CM Yogi, more than 2 dozen consolidation officers of 8 divisions have been punished for delay, negligence and irregularities in the settlement of consolidation related matters. In this, suspension, explanation and disciplinary action have been taken against 13 settlement officers of consolidation.

Action taken against several officials

In the same sequence, instructions have been given to remove a Deputy Director Consolidation Officer from the post, while a Deputy Director Consolidation Officer has been asked to explain for negligence. Disciplinary action has been taken against another Consolidation Officer, an explanation has been sought along with withholding the salary of an Assistant Consolidation Officer. Apart from this, disciplinary action has been taken against 3 Assistant Consolidation Officers, while a proposal for cutting the pension by 20 per cent due to irregularities in the service of a retired Assistant Consolidation Officer has been sent to the government. Apart from this, strict action has been taken against many others as well.

‘Review meetings are held from time to time’

Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen said that as per the wishes of CM Yogi, a review meeting of the department is held from time to time to curb corruption under the zero tolerance policy. In this sequence, in a recent review meeting, negligence, irregularities and corrupt activities were found in the work of many officers. Its report was sent to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on which instructions were given to take strict action against all. In this sequence, action was taken against the consolidation officers of 8 divisions Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Basti, Ayodhya and Devipatan.

Answers were sought from several officials

Bareilly, Hardoi, Lalitpur, Unnao, Chitrakoot and Jaunpur’s settlement officers consolidation Pawan Kumar Singh, Shriprakash Chandra Uttam, Rakesh Kumar, Suresh Kumar Sagar, Manohar Lal and Swatantra Veer Singh Yadav have been asked to explain for not making the expected progress in consolidation works. Pratapgarh’s Deputy Director Consolidation/Chief Revenue Officer Rakesh Kumar Gupta has been asked for an explanation for not discharging supervisory responsibilities while a letter has been written to the Appointment Department to remove Gorakhpur’s Deputy Director Consolidation Officer Raj Narayan Tripathi from his post for not providing information regarding the progress of work.

Retired Consolidation Officer will also be punished!

A proposal to cut 20 per cent of pension due to irregularities in service has been sent by retired Assistant Consolidation Officer Ramesh Pal Singh Rana to the government. The Relief Commissioner informed that Kushinagar’s Settlement Officer Consolidation Santosh Kumar has been suspended for negligence in work. Also, a letter has been written to the government for departmental action. Besides, disciplinary action along with withholding of salary has been taken against Varanasi’s Settlement Officer Consolidation Pawan Kumar Sidhu for not completing the work of village Ajgara targeted under Section-52 and not releasing the transferred Consolidation Lekhpals.

These officers were negligent

Disciplinary action has been taken against Settlement Officer Consolidation of Shahjahanpur, Mirzapur, Gorakhpur and Deoria, Mohan Lal then, Narendra Singh, Shashikant Shukla and Pawan Pandey respectively, for laxity in work. Disciplinary action has been taken against Settlement Officer Consolidation of Kannauj Dhamendra Singh, Consolidation Officer of Barabanki Shiv Narayan Gupta, Junior Assistant Umashankar of Barabanki for irregularities in investigation. Salary of Assistant Consolidation Officer Mahendra Singh was stopped as the work of village Lalauti of Fatehpur was not completed as per target. An explanation has also been sought.

Instructions to suspend the accountant

For non-completion of work of Village Masjidia by Assistant Consolidation Officer Sandeep Yadav of Balrampur, for non-completion of work of village Rajepur Sarai Arjani of Prayagraj and village Dhami of Pratapgarh, disciplinary action was taken by identifying the concerned Assistant Consolidation Officer. For non-completion of work of Village Tiera of Jaunpur, disciplinary action was taken against Assistant Consolidation Officer Sanjay Maurya and the Consolidator, Consolidation Lekhpal were identified and suspended and instructions were given for departmental action. For non-completion of work of Village Mahua of Azamgarh, explanation of the concerned Assistant Consolidation Officer was sought and disciplinary action was taken by determining the responsibility of Consolidator, Consolidation Lekhpal.
