Dehradun Express narrowly missed, loco pilot applied emergency brake when spark arose – Hindustan News Hub

New Delhi: Once again a conspiracy was hatched in Uttarakhand to overturn the train and this time the target was Dehradun Express going from Kathgodam to Dehradun. According to the information, about 15 feet long iron bar was kept on the railway track between Doiwala and Harrawala station. As soon as Dehradun Express passed here, suddenly a loud noise started coming from the engine and sparks started rising. After this, the loco pilot stopped the train by applying emergency brakes, thereby averting a major accident. According to the information, this incident happened at 4.30 in the morning.

According to the information, at 4.30 am, the Dehradun Express going from Kathgodam to Dehradun collided with a piece of iron kept on the track between Doiwala and Harrawala. Loco pilot Anuj Garg heard a loud noise from below the engine. Seeing the loud noise and sparks, the loco pilot feared some danger. After this he stopped the train by applying emergency brake.

The loco pilot and his assistant came down and took stock of the situation and found that a 15 feet long and three feet thick rebar was stuck on the railway track below the engine. The loco pilot promptly removed the bar from the track. After this the way for the train to move forward was cleared. Then the train was brought safely to Dehradun.

Taking this incident seriously, a case has been registered at Doiwala police station by the Railways. Police and GRP have started investigating the matter.
