Delhi Weather: There were scattered clouds in Delhi on Monday but there was no rain. Most areas remained sunny since morning. Due to this, the temperature has increased slightly and the level of humidity in the weather has also decreased compared to earlier. The maximum temperature recorded at Delhi’s Safdarjung Meteorological Center was 34.1 degrees Celsius, which is normal temperature at this time. The minimum temperature was 24.2 degrees Celsius, which is one degree less than normal. The humidity level here was between 95 to 60 percent. The department has predicted generally cloudy sky and light rain or drizzle on Tuesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 34 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

Monsoon is expected to last for a week

Monsoon is expected to remain in the capital Delhi for another week. During this time, light to moderate rain is expected intermittently. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Wednesday. This time the monsoon figure in Delhi has crossed one thousand millimeters. After three years, so much rain has been recorded during the monsoon.

If we look at the rains of September only, usually 123.4 mm of rain is recorded at Delhi’s Safdarjung weather station. But this time, 182.3 mm of rain has been recorded so far, which is about 50 mm more than normal. However, in terms of monsoon, this is the last phase now. It is believed that monsoon can last for one more week in Delhi. Mahesh Palawat, scientist of weather monitoring organization Skymet, says that from September 17, the withdrawal of monsoon winds from western Rajasthan starts.

Monsoon usually returns to Delhi from 23rd September. There are no signs of monsoon withdrawal in western Rajasthan yet. It is likely that monsoon withdrawal in Delhi will happen only after 23rd September. There will be light to moderate rainfall during the next week.

Pollution started increasing as soon as the rain decreased

This time the monsoon season has been very good in the capital. Its biggest impact has been on the air quality. However, due to less rain activity for the last two days, the pollution level is increasing. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, on Monday, Delhi’s average air quality index was 139 points. Air of this level is kept in the moderate category. On Sunday it was at 107 points, while on Saturday it was 62 points.
