Four more arrested in Sultanpur robbery, this time no firing was required, more goods recovered than looted

Earlier, the police had arrested three miscreants after shooting them in the leg and recovered 15 kg silver. The main accused had surrendered and the STF claimed to have recovered five kg silver after killing Mangesh Yadav in an encounter. Now the victim jeweler Bharat Soni has said that 90 percent of the goods looted from his shop have been recovered. The remaining silver goods are expected to be recovered from the possession of other absconding miscreants.

On August 28, in broad daylight, five miscreants looted jewellery worth about Rs. 1.25 crore from jeweller Bharat Soni at Chowk Thatheri Bazar in Kotwali Nagar at gunpoint. A live video of this was released. Seven teams including STF were deployed to solve the case. The mastermind of the case, Amethi’s miscreant Vipin Singh surrendered in Raebareli court the next day.

A pistol and silver were recovered from him.

On the information given by Vipin who was taken on remand on Wednesday, Vivek Singh, Arvind Yadav, Durgesh Singh and Vinay Shukla were arrested near Dubeypur. 2.25 kg gold has also been recovered. Among the arrested accused, Vivek Singh, a resident of Bhavani Nagar under Mohanganj police station of Amethi, is the brother of mastermind Vipin.

On the other hand, if the market value of the recovered material is seen, the police has claimed to have recovered goods worth more than Rs. 2 crore so far. On this, the SP said that whatever we have found has been shown as recovered. Only the victim jeweller can tell whether the goods are more or less.
