Earlier, the Navy had successfully tested BrahMos missile from its warship in the Bay of Bengal. The Navy had said that the missile had met all the mission objectives. The Navy also shared a photo of the missile test in a post on ‘X’. The Navy said, “Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet successfully test-fired BrahMos missile in the Bay of Bengal. The missile has met all the parameters of the mission.

Successful testing was also done in May

A BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired from the Navy’s missile destroyer INS Mormugao. Officials had given this information in May. He had said that the missile test has demonstrated the navy’s power at sea.

A Navy official had said, ‘The new guided missile destroyer, INS Mormugao, successfully hit the target during its maiden trial of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile.’

“The indigenously developed ship and its weapon system is another shining example of self-reliance and naval prowess at sea,” the official said.

Information about the location of the missile test is not yet available. BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited is an India-Russian joint venture that manufactures supersonic cruise missiles. This missile can be fired from submarines, ships and aircraft or ground platforms.
