He jumped into the river after a fight with his wife, the rescue team could not find any clue; he returned on his own after 8 hours

In Pune, Maharashtra, a man jumped into a river after a quarrel with his wife. But people are surprised that he came out safely after 8 hours. The fire brigade and police officials are also surprised about this. They are not able to understand how he survived in the raging river for so long. His family members are very happy that he is alive and has returned home. This 45-year-old man jumped into Pune’s Pawna river on Saturday, who has been identified as Aaba Saheb Keshav Pawar of Chinchwad.

According to reports, Pawar jumped into the Pavana river from Jadhav Ghat in Walhekarwadi at around 11 am. His family members then informed the police, who in turn passed on the information to the Pimpri-Chinchwad fire brigade. Officials were told that the Pawar couple often quarrelled over his drinking habit. That day too, they had a fight over the same issue and the man jumped into the river in anger. On receiving the information, the fire brigade, civic disaster management squad and NGOs from Maval started looking for him.

The flow of the river was faster due to the release of water from the dam

PCMC fire officer Gautam Ingwale said, ‘A shirt was seen hanging from a tree branch. Based on this, we searched around the trees and bushes on the banks of the overflowing river. But, we could not find any trace of him.’ He said that when the person jumped into the river, his family members were present there. Actually, the irrigation department had released 4000 cusecs of water from the Pawna dam, due to which the flow of the river became very fast. It seems that Pawar was an excellent swimmer, so he must have swam for some distance. The rescue team may not have found any trace of him, but he returned on his own after 8 hours.
