I am not in the mood but will fight if the public asks me to; said Bahubali Anant Singh on his return to politics

Bihar’s Bahubali former MLA Anant Singh, famous for his witty statements and interesting answers to journalists’ questions, is not in the mood to return to politics. Anant Singh, who won five times from Mokama in 2020, ended his legislative term in 2022 after he was sentenced to 10 years by the lower court in the AK 47 recovery case. After Anant, his wife Neelam Devi won the by-election. The Patna High Court acquitted Anant this month, declaring him innocent, and he is enjoying freedom after being released from jail. If Anant Singh wants, he can now contest the 2025 assembly elections. Anant became MLA three times from JDU, once as an independent and last time from RJD. Neelam Devi became MLA from RJD, but has been a rebel since the time of the floor test of Nitish Kumar’s NDA government and is running with JDU.

In an interview given to a digital channel, Anant Singh, on the question of returning to politics, said that he is not in the mood right now. But he is not out of speaking to the public. He said that he has told the people that if we find a good candidate, we will support him. When the journalist asked that if the public says that you should contest, Anant said that then we will fight. He said that after coming out of jail, he is meeting the people whom he could not serve for five years due to being in jail. He said that he will keep serving the public like this. The Bahubali leader said that since childhood, he has been helping the poor as much as he could.

When reminded of his old statement of wanting to become an MP, Anant Singh has said that he no longer has any desire to become an MP. Regarding the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Anant claimed that Nitish will dominate the elections next year. He said that Nitish guarantees that he will be with the BJP. He said that Nitish Kumar has no role in trapping or releasing him. He said that he did not get along with RCP Singh (then JDU leader, now BJP leader) so Lipi Singh, daughter of the former Union Minister, trapped him.
