Amit Shah on Article 370: Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to the opposition’s sharp attacks on Article 370 in the Rajya Sabha. On Monday, December 11, Shah said in the Rajya Sabha that the main reason for the delay in the merger of Jammu and Kashmir was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He said in the House that the Supreme Court accepted that Article 370 was a temporary solution. Even those who like the work of Jawaharlal Nehru and those who are supporters of his ideas do not like it. Jawaharlal Nehru had also called Article 370 temporary. Shah said that my question is simply that if Article 370 was so necessary then why was it called temporary. The Supreme Court has rejected the petition calling Article 370 permanent.
Amit Shah targeted Congress
During this, Amit Shah targeted Congress and other opposition parties and said that Congress has objection to the decision of the Supreme Court. I cannot convince them (Congress and other opposition parties) because I have dignity. Amit Shah said in his speech in Rajya Sabha, those who say that Article 370 is permanent are insulting the Constituent Assembly. After the Supreme Court’s decision on Article 370, the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir no longer has any validity. He said that I had already promised that the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored when the right time comes.
Three families from Jammu and Kashmir took advantage of Article 370
Shah further said in his address that separatism arose due to Article 370 in the Kashmir Valley. Due to this, terrorism got a boost here. He said the Modi government is committed to ensuring justice for the displaced Kashmiri people. PoK occupied by Pakistan is ours. No one can take it from us. During this, he further said that if Nehru had stayed for two more days and ceasefire had not been signed, then PoK would not have happened. During this, he targeted the opposition and said that the decision of the Supreme Court is a big defeat for them. Three families of Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed power under the provisions of Article 370 and deprived the people of all rights for 75 years.
