IND vs BAN: ICC can impose fine on Bangladesh! Their actions will not be tolerated

The first match of the two-Test series between India and Bangladesh is being played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. On the first day of the match, the visitors made a great start and put Rohit Sharma and company in trouble. There was a time when India lost the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli at a score of just 34, while the team lost a total of 6 batsmen at 144. But after this, the record-breaking partnership of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja brought India back and pushed Bangladesh on the backfoot. By the end of the day’s play, Bangladesh is also in danger of being punished by the ICC.

In fact, despite extending the game for an extra half hour on the first day, Bangladesh’s team was able to bowl only 80 overs. According to the rules, 90 overs have to be bowled in a day, if the overs are not completed in the stipulated time, then the team is given half an hour’s time, but Bangladesh has bowled 10 overs less even after using the extra time.

In such a situation, ICC can take strict action against Bangladesh and impose a fine. This fine can be their World Test Championship points as well as match fees.

Last month, Bangladesh was also fined by the ICC for slow over rate in the Rawalpindi Test against Pakistan. Such fines can deal a severe blow to the teams’ hopes of playing in the WTC final.

Let us tell you, Bangladesh currently has 45.83 percent points in the WTC points table and the team has been fined 3 points. India was fined 2 points due to slow over rate against England. Team India is at the top of this list with 68.52 percent points.
