IND vs BAN: Yashasvi Jaiswal put Team India in tension, Virat Kohli extended a helping hand

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made a great start to his Test career, was seen struggling against Jasprit Bumrah and other fast bowlers during the Indian team’s net session on Monday. Jaiswal is considered the future star of Indian cricket and has impressed a lot with the bat in the first year of his career in the Test format. This left-handed batsman has scored 1028 runs in his first nine Test matches at an average of 68.53. However, he scored more than 700 of these runs in the last home series against England. He could not perform as expected in the two Test matches on the tour of South Africa in conditions favorable to fast bowlers.

Jaiswal will have to get rid of this weakness

India has to play 10 Test matches this season. Five of these Test matches will be played on fast bowler-friendly pitches in Australia, so Jaiswal will have to get rid of this weak link soon. Before facing bowlers like Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins, Jaiswal will face the challenge of fast bowlers like Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana, who are in great form, in the two-Test series against Bangladesh from September 19. Taskin and Rana troubled the batsmen a lot with their speed, swing and bounce on the Pakistan tour and helped the team win the Test series against Pakistan for the first time.

Jaiswal fails to make a mark in first-class cricket

Jaiswal also failed to make an impact in the first class match in the current season. In the Duleep Trophy match, he returned to the pavilion cheaply on the balls of Avesh Khan and Khalil Ahmed. Before the match against Bangladesh in Chennai, Jaiswal practiced a lot against Bumrah. However, he did not look comfortable with Bumrah against net bowlers like Simarjit Singh, Gurnur Brar and Gurjanpreet Singh. The ball took the outside edge of his bat many times. Bumrah also bowled him twice during this period. During the practice session, Jaiswal’s confidence seemed to be shaken and he was unable to adjust to the swing and bounce.

Jaiswal-Kohli batted for an hour

Jaiswal was then seen talking to veteran Virat Kohli. Kohli was probably telling this young player about his flaws. Kohli and Jaiswal batted for about an hour in the net session. During this, Bumrah also troubled Kohli. Kohli, however, hit some brilliant cover and on drives. Jaiswal looked comfortable against spin bowlers. He used his feet well against the spinners and hit some brilliant square cuts. After this, Rishabh Pant, who came for practice, did not hesitate to play aggressive shots while batting against left-arm spinners. Indian players also did fielding practice during this time, in which priority was given to the practice of catching catches in the slips.
