Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday praised Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, saying he is the only MP from the state who consistently speaks for the poor in Parliament. Speaking at the launch of a book titled ‘Prophet for the World’ in Hyderabad, the Congress leader said Owaisi has been working tirelessly for the welfare of marginalised communities. Revanth Reddy described him as the voice of the poor.
“Even when he spoke against the Congress, I felt good because our own brother was raising his voice. If someone speaks against us, he does not become our enemy. There may be some mistakes in running the government. To correct those mistakes, we need a strong opposition, be it in the state or in the country,” Revanth Reddy said.
Let us tell you that Owaisi has strongly criticized the Congress on several occasions, especially on issues related to the Muslim community. The Telangana Chief Minister further said in the program that collective efforts should be made to counter attempts to spread hatred in the country.
Revanth Reddy said the essence of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, Gita and Bible is to ensure peace in the country and the world. “We should stand together to stop those who are trying to spread poison. India is our country and it is our responsibility to protect it. No one else will come to save the country. It is not wrong to try to win elections, but we should be cautious of those who spread poison to win,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that the number of people speaking for the people in the Lok Sabha has decreased, while hate speeches have increased.
