The troubles of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, who is facing allegations of taking money and asking questions in Parliament, may increase once again. The winter session of Parliament continues and if sources are to be believed, the Ethics Committee may present the investigation report against Mahua in the Lok Sabha. For the past several days, there have been speculations that after the Ethics Committee report comes, Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra may also lose her Lok Sabha membership.

Since the beginning of the winter session on Monday, there were speculations that the Ethics Committee could present a report against Mahua in the Lok Sabha at any time. However, on Monday, the opposition created a ruckus in the Parliament, due to which the proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned. However, it is now being said that this report may be presented on Friday. On the Ethics Committee report, TMC MP Mahua Moitra says, ‘I don’t know whether they will keep it or not.’
CBI also started investigation
On the other hand, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also started investigating the cash-for-query allegations against MP Mahua Moitra. CBI sources have said that we have started the investigation on the orders of Lokpal. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had also informed that the Lokpal, on November 8, “has ordered a CBI inquiry against accused Mahua Moitra for indulging in corruption at the cost of national security.”

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, in his complaint, had accused Moitra of asking questions in the Lok Sabha to target the Adani Group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for gifts. Dubey said the allegations were based on a letter he received from a Supreme Court lawyer, which contained “multiple evidences of bribery transactions” between Moitra and the businessman.
